Day with Uncle Jeff

The week after Easter my brother was on Spring break and so he came home for the week. Jeff doesn't get to come home very often since he plays football for his school and therefore doesn't get to see Jayce very much. One day that week I took off so that we could all spend the day together. We decided to go to the park and spend some of our time there. Jayce loves playing at the park and Jeff did a great job keeping him entertained! He's a great Uncle and Jayce really enjoyed spending time with him!! Thanks Uncle Jeff for coming and spending the day with us!

Weekend in Galveston

Lovin the beach!!

My parents are a part of this camp club and this weekend they were camping in Galveston. Layne had a guys thing with his wakeboarding buddies and so I figured it would be a good time to go and hang with my parents. My parents took Jayce with them down to Galveston on Thursday and then I came up Friday afternoon. Jayce had such a great time!! He absolutely loves to be outside, so camping was his kind of time! My parents absolutely love having him and he was the life of the group. Thursday he played outside most of the afternoon. There was a little park and so he enjoyed playing there. He also just enjoyed running around in the grass by the RV. Jayce really had fun making everyone laugh. When he has an audience, he knows how to captivate them!! Everyone wants him to come back so that they can get more laughs. What a little ham. Saturday we took him to the beach. He had a great time!! He didn't know what to think of the water at first, but then he really enjoyed it. When he was walking in the water, as the water went back into the ocean, it would throw off Jayce's balance. I guess watching it and not really knowing what it's doing. It looked like he was drunk as he walked along the water. You probably had to be there to really think it was funny, but oh well. Here's some pics of our day at the beach.

Found a big stick--and what does he do with it???

Uncle Jeff and Jayce by the neighborhood egg hunt

On Easter weekend, we had a busy weekend. Friday I had the day off so we spent it together as a family. It was nice just to be able to relax and spend time with my boys. Saturday we got up early and went over to Layne's mom's house. Her neighborhood was having a carnival/easter egg hunt and so we thought that it would be fun for Jayce. It was supposed to start at 10 and we thought that the egg hunt started at 10. WELL--we were wrong! The egg hunt didn't start until 11:20 and it was WAY past Jayce's nap time. So we stayed for a little bit so that he could play, but then we left. Jayce was not going to wait that long. We decided to make our own egg hunt at Nana's house, which I think went much better. Since Jayce had never hunted eggs before, he didn't really know what it all entailed. We had to teach him how to get the eggs and put them in his easter basket. He thought that it was so neat that they made noise and wanted to know what was inside them. He had to open each one before going on to find another one. It was very cute and fun for us.

Sneak Peek of Ryleigh's room

So Layne and I have been working hard on Ryleigh's room. We decided to paint it Pink and Brown and use white bead board with chair rail to finish it off. Well, I got this idea to paint squares on the wall from a friend of mine. She did it in her son's room from floor to ceiling (and it looked super cute), but I only wanted to do it for part of the wall. So it took Layne and I two weekends to paint the room and then my dad came over to help with the bead board and chair rail. So far it looks great!! I love the room and it's not even complete!! Here's some sneak peek pics of what we have so far.

This is before the chair rail---only bead board up

These two are with the bead board and chair rail.

Easter Egg Stuffing

On Wednesday night some people from our small group got together and stuffed eggs for an under-privileged community around here called Tamina. They are having their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday and were needing some eggs for the kids. So we all brought eggs and candy and stuffed eggs for a couple of hours. Here's our crew and our two trash bags full of Easter Eggs. These kids are going to have so much fun!!!
