Ryleigh's Baby Dedication

Today our church did their second Baby Dedications. Layne and I were apart of it AGAIN! :) I'm pretty sure we ARE NOT going to be dedicating a baby in the next one. hehe.

So we dedicated our precious baby girl to Jesus today. We proclaimed today that Layne and I were going to raise our daughter in a Christian home and were going to be examples of Jesus to her. We also pray that she will come to know Jesus at an early age. I know that God has great things planned for her life and I pray that she is obedient to Him and allows Him to bless her with those great things! I thank the Lord all the time for giving me the kids that He did. They are truly amazing and show me something every day about how much God loves me.

I am so thankful for a church that cares so deeply for children. I know that as my kids grow they will be learning about how much God loves them. They will also be learning about who and what God is. They will learn to worship God and will also learn how to love one another. I love our children's ministry. I love everything about it. I am also thankful for a pastor who is very real and who is also a dear friend of ours. My heart just bursts with love and thankfulness for so much!

Finally, I am extremely thankful for such a great family!!! We are so blessed with amazing parents, grandparents and extended family. I am thankful to have a mom and dad who love me and also love my kids just as much (maybe even more :)) My dad couldn't be there today and I know that that just killed him. He loves my kids so much and wants them to know how much he loves them. He tries so hard to be at everything we have of theirs. Today he couldn't be there because he threw out his back and pretty much couldn't walk. He's a great PawPaw and I know that if he could have been there he would have. My mom came along with Layne's parents. Layne's parents are pretty great also! I am so blessed to have great in-laws that I really do get along with and love. After the dedication we went over to Layne's parents house for lunch. While we were there, his grandparents came over along with his aunt to celebrate our daughter. We are just so blessed with so many people who love us and that would do anything for us!! Thank you all so much for being such a great family.

Tutu's and Hair bows

I've become friends with people who are really crafty. It makes me want to be crafty also!! So last week I attempted to be somewhat crafty. I made some hair bows for Ryleigh and I made her her first tutu. I'm pretty impressed with my craftiness. I am not exactly the girly girl....so this was pretty hard for me. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to get more and more crafty!!

It's not quite finished yet, but I wanted to see what it looked like on so far. Don't you love her sweet belly hanging out. I accidentally forgot to pull her shirt down.

So easy to make!! I couldn't believe that I actually did that!!

Those were so easy also!! Just add to a clip!!! I can't believe that people charge an arm and a leg for those! :)

Children's Museum

Last Wednesday, me and two of my friends took our kids down to the Children's Museum downtown. I just have to say that I was thoroughly impressed! It was not hard to get to...parking was not bad at all and it was very clean. There were tons of really cool things for kids to do and they had a toddler place that was totally secluded from all the other kids coming in on field trips. Jayce had a total blast and DID NOT want to leave when we went to eat lunch. I had to keep telling him that we were coming back. It wasn't quite as hard to get him to leave that afternoon because he was so worn out from playing his little heart out. Ryleigh did well also. She was either in the stroller or in my moby wrap. She's so flexible. She likes being with Mommy. So here are some pictures of our fun day. I didn't get very good ones because Jayce was so excited about being there that he would not look at the camera. He had way too many fun things to look at and play with.

Way too excited to look at the camera.

5 months old!

OH MY GOSH!!!!! Time seriously needs to stop!! My sweet baby girl is 5 months old TODAY!!! What the heck is happening??! I can't believe that 5 months have gone by. She's going to be one before I know it. That makes me soooo sad!!! Ryleigh is such an awesome baby girl. SOOOO incredibly happy. I remember Jayce being happy, but she's seriously super happy. Always has a smile on her face and loves to talk your head off. Oh I just love her and could eat her up!! This weekend we went to Hammond, LA to watch my brother play football and so I got a picture of us while we were there. She had on one of the new flowers that I made her. So cute, I have to say! I am truly in love with her!!!!

Ryleigh's 4 month check up

Today I took Ryleigh to the doctor for her 4 month check up. We haven't had insurance since Layne started his new job and starting on Nov. 1 we got family insurance. So it was time to take her. When we got there there were TONS of people and there were sick kids in the well waiting. I was pretty ticked!! I had to wait for 30 minutes before they called us back. The entire time I was hoping and praying that my WELL kids didn't get sick from all the other kids.

So here are her 4 month stats:
weight-15lbs 10oz (75-90th percentile)
height-26 inches long (90th percentile)

Here's what Jayce's stats were at 4 months old:
weight- 15lbs 3 oz
height- 26 inches long

YES---THEY ARE SOOOO MUCH THE SAME!!! I just can't believe that they look alike, they act alike and their growth stats are pretty much exactly the same! This is soooo strange!

So what else is Ryleigh up to? Ryleigh doesn't like to eat food yet....we're still trying that out. She can roll over from back to belly VERY well. She is starting to get up on her knees when she's on her belly. She doesn't like to be on her belly at all. So when she rolls over she yells at me to roll her back over. She is a chatter box. She sleeps 10 hours at night and takes 2-3 naps a day. She's so easy-going and doesn't care if her schedule is changed. She's a big time Momma's girl!! Pretty much only Mommy can feed her. She loves her blanket that Nana made her. It's pink and has satin on one side. She's inlove with satin. She rubs it all over her face and wants it when she is sleepy. She enjoys listening to Daddy talk. She's always on the lookout for her brother. She loves to watch him and laugh at him. She's starting to discover that she has feet. Ryleigh very RARELY cries. I don't think I hear her cry at all some days. She's all smiles! We love her so much and can't wait for her to get big enough to play with her big brother! She's a ton of fun!!

Halloween 2009

This year was our first real Halloween as a family. Last year we didn't take Jayce trick or treating since he was so little, but this year we decided to take him to a fall festival. The church that Layne works at was doing a thing called "Trunk or Treat." They had about 200ish members/people from the church bring their cars and decorate. Then the kids could walk around from trunk to trunk and get candy. They also had lots of food and fun things for the kids to do. They had bouncies, a horse, and a hayride. There was probably other things, but we didn't make it to everything. Some of our community group came out there with us and we had a blast watching all the kids and their costumes. I also got to take Jayce trick or treating. He didn't really like it too much. He didn't like walking up to people he didn't know, and since he had never had candy before he didn't know what the big deal was. He just liked chilling with our community group and dancing to the music.

Trick or treating for the first time. He liked putting the candy in his pumpkin himself!

My Minnie just chillin

Our friends from our community group. They were troopers for doing this with us. We love having such great friends!!

Mickey was starving and needed some food before he could go trick or treating anymore.

So excited about his candy

LOVING the horse!!! He cried when he had to get off!

We really had a great time!!! I can't for next year when both kids will be trick or treating. I'm really surprised that Jayce doesn't ask for his candy, but he's not much of a sweets eater. I'm so glad too!!
