Thanksgiving in Oklahoma

This year we went to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. Layne's sister lives there and so we decided to go up there and see her and her family. It was an eight hour drive up which was not too bad. Layne's mom and I went up with the kids and then when Layne and his dad got off work they came up that afternoon. Since I had Nana with me, she was able to get in the back seat if any of the kids needed something. On the way back home was a TOTALLY different story. We got there Wednesday evening and then had a great Thanksgiving day. The day after Thanksgiving, whenever my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and I are together we ALWAYS go shopping!! This year was no different. When we first started we got up pretty late, like 6 and went shopping. Every year we seem to get earlier and earlier. This year we were up by 3:15 and out the door at 3:30 headed for Kohl's who opened at 4:00. We got some really great stuff. Our shopping trip ended up being an 11 hour trip. 3:30 until 2:30 in the afternoon. We sure were rockstars that day, but totally felt it the next day!!!! Then one night while we were there Chad her husband built a fire outside and we smoked hotdogs and marshmellows. We really had a great time until Steph decided to take a funky step and sprain her ankle pretty bad. So much for a uneventful night.
