Weekend in Galveston

Last weekend the kids and I went down to Galveston Beach with my parents.  My mom and I headed down Friday afternoon with the kids and then my dad came down with the camping trailer after he got off work.  Friday after dinner we tried to go out and look for crabs.  We didn't have enough flashlights, so Saturday we stopped by Wal-mart and got some headlights for the kids to wear.  Wow, those crabs are super fast!!! We saw tons of them on the beach, but they were little and they blended in to the sand.  The kids thought it was cool to see their eyes and to chase them around.  We saw a few in the water, but not very many.  Saturday, we got up early that morning and headed out to the beach.  We thought it might be nicer to get down there while it was still sorta cool.  The water felt much better then too!! After a couple hours on the beach we headed back to the trailer for some lunch.  Jayce cracked me up!!! While he was trying to eat lunch, he looked over at me and said, "Mommy, my eyes are really tired and I can't keep them open.  Can I please go night night??" HA! Of course you can!!! SO he went in and took a super nap! Ryleigh finished eating and then she napped too.  I tried to take advantage of that time and napped as well.  The sun was wearing me out!! After naps we took another short trip to the beach and then headed to the pool to clean off all the salt and sand :)

Saturday night we headed out again to look for crabs.  The kids enjoyed looking more that night because they had the super cool lights on their heads. HA! They crack me up!!! We were almost unsuccessful, but we finally were able to catch one crab!! The kids were so excited!!!

Sunday we did a morning beach visit, then to the pool and then it was lunch time. By lunch I was beat from being in the sun all weekend, so we packed up and then headed back home.  It was a great weekend!!! We all had a great time.

 Beach Bums
 My little diva.
 My super cool boy!!

The water was so much fun to play in! But Jayce really didn't like getting water into his mouth.  He didn't understand why it wasn't like the water at the lake :) HA!

Getting ready to go crabbing.  Just have to wait till it gets dark. :)

Not sure if you can see it very well, but the white thing in the middle of the picture is a sand crab.  Those things were SUPER hard to catch and FAST!!! The kids thought they were awesome!
Here's the one and only crab that we were able to catch.
PawPaw also helped us do some sandcastle building!  Complete with a moat :)
