Cherry Blossoms

This year we didn't have the Texas bluebonnets, but we did get to see the DC cherry blossoms!  They were absolutely beautiful!!! DC was packed!!! This is the 100th anniversary of when Japan gave the United States 1000 Cherry Blossoms to plant around the Tidal Basin.  Wow. To see them all bloomed is just breath-taking!  We didn't plan our visit very well and we didn't get the best pictures of the kids.  So next year we will plan much better and get some good family pictures!

We did try to go back, but the cherry blossoms bloomed really early this year and so they were already all gone.  The little flowers are really delicate and we had a storm come through one weekend and it took all the flowers out.  Along with the wind that we've been having....they had no luck.  So they pretty much lasted about a week.
