Lake Day with the Mauks

Two weekends ago--JD, Jenny, and Morgan Mauk came up to our lake house for the afternoon. It was such a beautiful day and we wanted to share it with them. So we enjoyed the outdoor and decided to go on a boat ride. So we got life jackets for the two toddlers and left Ry at home with Nana. Oh what a beautiful day for the lake......we got out to the no wake markers and Layne put the gas all the way down to take off. Well.....we heard a really loud shot gun sound. NOT GOOD. I thought at first that we hit something. Nope....so then he does it again. Shot gun sound again and then the boat dies. We try several times to start it back up. Nothing. GREAT!!!!! This is the first time we had taken the boat out since the winter. The guys decided that it was bad gas. And that it was. SO Layne waved down a fishing boat and they took him into our marina. Layne said that he would just go and get the jet ski and then come and get us. Well while at home getting the jetski, he realized that the jetski wouldn't start. The battery had died from it not being used. WONDERFUl!!! Meanwhile, The Mauks, Jayce and I are STRANDED on the lake. So I have to flag down another boat and ask them to tow us in. What a day to spend at the lake. But even though we didn't get to go out on our boat ride, we enjoyed the sun and company anyways.
