Brynna's Dedication

This past weekend our church had baby dedications.  It was on Mother's Day and it was such a blessing to be able to share to the whole church that we were going to raise our third child to love the Lord.  Before dedications, we as parents were asked to read Deuteronomy 6.  In Deuteronomy 6: 5-7 it says, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in you house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." 
I pray that as Brynna grows, she will accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  That is why God has entrusted us with His Children.  To raise them to love Him and to love others the way He loves us. 
So during the dedication each family was given a certificate with a verse that we chose to have on there.  We chose Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will no depart from it."  This is the verse that we pray for all our children.  We introduced Brynna to the congregation and then Layne read the verse out loud in front of our entire congregation.  After all the families went the Elders of our church along with our pastor all came to each family and prayed over us and our babies.  It was a sweet moment and something we will remember forever!
