Camping!!!

This past weekend we went camping with our lifegroup from church.  We had a total blast!!! It was the first time we had ever gone camping with our kids and the kiddos did great! We got there Friday evening after Layne got off work.  The minute we got there the kids got their bikes our of the car and started riding.  Layne put up the tent and got everything out of the car.  There were six families total so we were all on one campsite.  Well we were supposed to be on one campsite.  I guess there was some kind of misunderstanding and the park rangers made us rent another campsite due to the amount of people we had.  So, there was one family on the site across from us.  Our friend Mark was in charge of planning everything and getting everything together.  He did an amazing job!! He was also our cook for the weekend. 

After dinner on Friday we all hung out by the campfire and had some great conversation.  Have I said that I love my lifegroup!? We have been so blessed to meet some amazing families and made some great friendships! God is SO Good!!!!The kids went to bed and were soooooo excited about sleeping in the tent and in their sleeping bags. On Saturday, the sun was bright at about 6am and so the kids were up with the sun :) So our morning started early...as did everyone else's. HA! And to my surprise, Brynna did great sleeping in the tent! She was all snuggly warm and slept wonderfully.  So after everyone was up, we all ate some breakfast and then we all did different things.  All the different activities included: kayaking, canoeing, playing on the playground, hiking, we went on a little field trip to the southern most tip of Maryland, eating s'mores, napping and probably more. Saturday afternoon we started to get some little rain showers.  Then Saturday night it down poured on us.  Our tent luckily didn't leak, but one of our friends tents did. :( It was really fun sleeping in the tent while it was raining, but I sure was glad when it stopped raining. Sunday we all got up went to church and then came back to the campsite and cleaned up.  Such a fun trip and I can't wait until we do another trip with our group!   On our way! Camping seriously wears a girl out!! She fell asleep while eating her snack.  It was the first time that day that she actually stopped for more than 5 minutes. 

 

Our friend Shawn got to go kayaking for the first time since he became paralyzed.  He was so excited and did a great job! God is Sooo Good!!!!!
