Weekend at the Lake

Last weekend, not the one we just had, but the one before that.  Not sure if that is last weekend or what to call it.  Anyways...we went to the lake! My brother and his girlfriend came into town from Louisiana and so we wanted to do something fun.  It was a kinda crazy weekend.  Friday was BEAUTIFUL and then Saturday it was freezing cold. So weird to be laying out in a swim suit one day and then pulling out our winter jackets the next.  Oh well...that's Texas for ya!

Anyways, we had a good time.  My parents came up with us and we all just had a relaxing day. PawPaw and Jayce went for a kayak ride.  I totally thought that he was going to take a nap while out there, but he really enjoyed it because that boy did not fall asleep :) 

Ryleigh was jealous that Jayce got to wear a life jacket, so she went to find one too.  If her big brother had one on, she was going to have one on also.

 While they were doing that, Caitlin and I got some much needed UV rays.  We laid out by the water for a little while.  So since we were relaxing, Jeff and Layne got some fishing in.  Jeff was a lucky fisherman and caught a couple.  Grammie sat on the porch while Ryleigh got a much needed nap in.

 After PawPaw and Jayce got back, he wanted to fish just like Uncle Jeff.  So they gooed up his fishing line with a yucky old worm.  

Ryleigh got her nap in and was in a much better visiting mood.

After a fun filled day by the water, some friends of ours stopped by...Elizabeth and her son Tyler.  Jayce got a new bike for his birthday, but is a little afraid to ride it....so since Ty has a bike just like it we thought that a little peer pressure would be good for him.  Sure enough, he got on that bike and rode it.

The bike doesn't have peddles, so you have to learn how to balance yourself. Tyler is awesome at it! He has no fear, Jayce....well he has fear and isn't too sure about it.  I'm hoping that the more he sees Ty do it the more he will want to.  Peer pressure can be good :)

And to finish off our night, we had cupcakes! This little girl made a huge mess while eating hers! She went straight to the bath after her yummy cupcake.
