Yesterday Layne had the day off so we decided to venture into DC and hit up some of the Smithsonians. We were hoping that the kids would have a good time and wow we were right! The expressions on Jayce's face and his reactions to certain things were absolutely priceless!!! He loved every part of the Air and Space Museum. He wanted to check out every single part of it. He loved being able to push the buttons and see what the exhibits would do. He would see things and make up his own stories about what was going on. It was pretty awesome to see his interpretations of what he was seeing. After the Air and Space Museum Jayce wanted to go and see the dinosaurs. So we headed over to the Natural History Museum. There weren't very many dinosaurs there, but he still loved seeing all the animal bones and all the exhibits there. Both the kids did great. We brought the double stroller so that they wouldn't have to walk too much, but they actually loved walking and walked quite a bit. We were pretty impressed.
Excited to be at the Airplane Museum!!!! :) That's what he called it.
Cool! This one plays music!!!
These are so cool!!!
Wishing they could fly the plane and push all the many buttons! :)
LOVE his expression!!! He's in awe of some big airplane!
OH HOW I LOVE THESE TWO!!!!!!!
Amazing view as we walk to another museum!
First up....DINOSAURS!!!
The stegasaurous!! This is such a cool dinosaur!!
RRROOOOAARRRR! That's what a dinosaur says!
This was awesome, Jayce was telling Ryleigh all about the dinosaurs and what they do. He had a story about each one. He has pretty much learned all this from the show "Dino Dan." Ryleigh listened and then came back to me and was telling me what her Bubba taught her. PRICELESS!!
Then he wanted to tell me all about everything too :) Such a cutie!!!
Very excited about seeing some animals SHE knew! Something she could finally tell us about. HA!
We all had such a great day! The kids enjoyed every part of all of the museums. Once we got into the car to go home, they were both asleep before we even knew it. Later that night and again this morning Jayce was telling us all about what he saw and what he liked. I love that he's able to learn and soak up so much! It was an awesome family day!
