Cha Cha Chaaannges.....

So that title is supposed to be sung.  Not sure if it worked out very well or not. But anyways.....we are undergoing some major changes in our life!!

Oh several months ago a friend of Layne's told him about a job opening that he should apply for.  We had been talking/praying about doing something different for a while and not just living here for ever and ever.  Well I did not really expect anything to come out of it to be honest. So Layne applied for the job and then we just waited.  We would hear little tidbits from his friend who worked for the company, but not much.  He was still happy to be at Champion Forest, but he thought that if God wanted us to be somewhere else, well why not apply for it and see what happens......this could be a once in a life-time opportunity.  So we waited....and prayed and prayed.....about 2 or so months later he got a call saying that Lockheed Martin wanted to fly him up to Maryland for an interview.  His interview was going to be on May 12 and so we had like 4 weeks to wait for it.  Oh my goodness....I had so many thoughts going through my mind! First excitement, then total freak out, then sadness, then holy cow can these four weeks go by any slower! It felt like forever for the interview to get here.

Well, so when they told him about the interview, he was told that he would get one interview and that was it.  So that if he needed to fly his wife up to do that then.  SO we made the decision for me to fly up there too so that we could decide if this would even be a place where we would want to live as a family.  Finally May 11 got here and we flew up there.  We left really early in the morning so that we would have as much time as we could up there and then we left really late the next day.  They would only pay for one night stay and so we didn't want to stay longer than that.  Lockheed paid for Layne's plane ticket, his meals, rental car, and hotel.  So all we had to do was pay for my ticket.  It was a nice mini-vacation.

Oh it was beautiful up there!!! So green.  Such awesome weather, just beautiful.  After driving and driving around in the little towns around where we would live, we finally found an area where we could possibly live.  I was really nervous at first, because nothing seemed like the right place.  While we were up there we even met with a Pastor of a church that we had researched and was hoping that we could call home if we ended up living there.  We met with he and his wife and just had a really nice time talking.  The church seems like it is a lot like Woodlands Point and we loved being at that church, so we were very excited! On our way back to the airport, we stopped and ate some Maryland Blue crab....or so we thought.  Our waitress told us that they get most of their crab from Louisiana and Texas! We couldn't believe it....but we ate it anyways and it was yummy!

 the tools we needed
 the crab...all spiced up
the aftermath...oh it was so good!!!

So after Layne's interview, which he thought went really really well, they told him that they would let him know in about a week.  SO needless to say, the following week was slow! We waited each day and nothing....then Friday of that afternoon, we got word! They were offering him the job.  HOLY CRAP! I was shocked, well not totally shocked...because I knew that Layne had prepared quite a bit and is good at what he does, but also very at peace about it.  I still freaked out a little, but knew that this would be so amazing for Layne! He could have endless possibilities if he took this job.  So that's exactly what he did.  So that brings us to now.....

He starts his job June 27 and we are praying that our house sells quickly.  Me and the kids are planning on staying down here June and July or as long as it takes for our house to sell.  So if anyone wants to get together while we are still here, we'd love to :)

That's that.....we know that God has a plan for us and we are trusting in Him completely!
