Jayce's NEW Room

So this morning we woke up to Jayce talking in his bed at 4:00am. He normally doesn't wake up that early so we knew something was up. When Layne went into his room he not only heard a talking boy---but he heard the sound of dripping onto our hardwood floors. His only thought was holy crap not again!!! So let me go back and tell you what happened almost one year ago.

When Jayce was 4-6weeks old we went to Layne's parents house and spent pretty much the entire day there. This was the first time we had been gone all day since he was born. When we returned home that night we found a huge (pretty much covering most of his floor) puddle of water in his room and the ceiling sagging. It was the worst feeling. From that we ended up fixing our water heater (which one of the hoses had broken), fixed the ceiling in Jayce's room and got new floors in the entire house from it.

Now fast forward to this morning. Layne goes into Jayce's room and finds a puddle on the floor. Luckily this time it had not been dripping for very long and we were able to save our floors. But not our ceiling. AND thank the LORD that Jayce was not in his room at the time when the ceiling caved in. Layne had brought Jayce into the living room at about 6ish to watch cartoons. Then he went into the attic to turn the water heater back on so that I could have hot water to take a shower with. When he did that he felt the insulation to see how wet it was and that was the end of that. The ceiling caved in on about half of Jayce's room.

SOOOOO....we now have a huge hole and it's freezing in his room and most of our house. Luckily, Jayce is spending the night at Layne's mom's house tonight. Also my super dad has some contacts and is going to have our ceiling fixed tomorrow. Thank goodness for parents!!! So that is how our morning started today...here are some pictures of our son's new and improved room. :)

Oh no! I am so sorry that happened again! How annoying, but so glad you saved the floors and that Jayce was not in there!

Oh Wow!! What a headache, but it's sounds like it could've been worse! I'm so glad that Jayce was safe and sound in the other room! Good luck with the repairs!
